Aida M. Landa
"Experiencing firsthand how disability can profoundly reshape lives inspired me to use my legal skills to advocate for those in need."
About
Rooted in Miami, where she was born and raised, Aida is proud to be a first-generation attorney. After nearly three decades representing defendants, insurance companies, and corporations through every aspect of litigation, Aida has found her true passion in advocating for individuals navigating disability claims.
Why Disability Law?
Aida brings a personal perspective to her practice, shaped by experiences that have given her unique insight into the challenges of living with and navigating life-altering disabilities. Early in her career, her niece was diagnosed with autism at a time when the condition was not widely understood, and no specialized care or resources were available to support her niece or her family. Later, her father suffered a sudden and sever disability, further deepening her understanding of the challenges individuals and families face during such life-altering events. These experiences ultimately guided Aida to focus her legal skills on advocating for individuals facing disabilities, allowing her to merge her profession with her personal passion.
Aida’s Practice
Aida’s practice focuses on disability insurance claims, including those governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), as well as individual disability insurance.
She represents clients at every stage of the claims process, from filing initial claims and challenging denials and terminations through the appeals process to pursuing disability benefits in both state and federal courts.
Aida is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit
