The Standard also utilizes peer reviews. Peer reviews are paper reviews of your medical records by a doctor. These doctors won’t examine you. There may also be some bias. This is because the doctors are hired by the insurance company.

The insurance company tends to send your medical records to many doctors. And these reviews are usually negative. They are also generally inconsistent with your doctors’ opinions. By using many peer reviews, they try to build the record against you. This is an attempt by the insurance company to look reasonable when denying benefits.

Lastly, you can expect a lengthy denial letter from The Standard. In this letter, they will attack your claim and your credibility.
